SPINE IS THE AXIS OF THE HUMAN BODY

There are seven major  centers (chakras) of activity in the spine and brain.Spine a very real and important part of human anatomy because of their relationship to one's mental / emotional outlook as well as one's spiritual awareness. The experience of other qualities and emotions, many of which are not felt in the heart but in other regions of the spine. Awareness of the spinal centers and their qualities are important because they reveal the direct relationship between the overall quality of one's life experience and the flow of energy in the spine and brain. An upward flow of energy leads to greater happiness and greater spiritual awareness. Greater spiritual awareness or "higher consciousness"–which is to say one's degree of divine joy or Bliss–is a result of rising energy in the spine and brain directed toward the seat of Bliss/spiritual awareness at the point between the eyebrows. Spine is where the qualities of the chakras really prove their practical benefit in the art of living in joy. when a true saint passes away, the top of their head feels hot. A normal person's life energy, on the other hand, is said to leave through the medulla oblongata at the time of death as their self-identity is still bound by the ego. Positive qualities of the chakras clearly relate to various spiritual teachings and practices. Active practice of exercise and Kayakalpa, direct all your life energy from each of the chakras up the spine to the spiritual eye. The spine has an amazing interaction with the chakras, an auspicious relationship based on where they all line up. The spine is your physical foundation of your body. It provides the support for muscles, organs, and glands. It is the portal for your nervous system, allowing the nerves to pass from your brain down your back and then to all parts of your body. The different segments of the spine have a particular significance to the chakras. Location of the chakras  are in the center of the body and they are the metaphysical energy centers of the ethereal or invisible body. Each chakras lies in an auspicious place along the spine.

Chakra 7 is at the top of the skull. When a baby is born, the bones of the skull are not fully closed, and there is a soft spot at the top of the head. This is the site of the 7th chakra. Because there is such a big opening when a baby is born, this is the place where one receives energy and information from spiritual sources.

Chakra 6 is at the base of the skull where the topmost vertebra of the cervical spine connects with the skull. This chakra opens to the infusion of information that enters from chakra 7 and then funnels that information into the spine.

Chakra 5 is at the place where the cervical and thoracic spine meets at the neck. The spine merges with the rib cage in the thoracic area.

Chakra 4 is in the middle of the 12 vertebrae of the thoracic spine and is in an auspicious location. There are 7 ribs that connect to both the backbone and the breastbone. There are 5 ribs that connect to the backbone and reach around to the front of the body forming the lower part of the rib cage. The 4th chakra is located between these two types of ribs, at the place where the ribs structurally change.

Chakra 3 is where the spine changes from thoracic to lumbar, that is, the vertebrae that are attached to ribs to vertebrae without connection to the ribs.

Chakra 2 is at the place where the spine changes from lumbar to sacral—this is the top of the hip cage. Charka 2 is deep within the pelvis and protected by bones.

Chakra 1 is where the bones of the tailbone lie.

These chakras are so close together they seem like one, but they can differentiate into 2 specific chakras with specific purposes.they are located along the spine extending out the front and back of the body.  The chakras are formed at the junction of three connected energy shafts that ascend the spine, one on each side of the central channel, the Shushumna. The two lesser channels of energy -- the Pingala on the right and Ida on the left -- run parallel to the spinal cord. Chakras both take up and collect prana (life force energy) and transform and pass on energy. Our material bodies could not exist without them for they serve as gateways for the flow of energy and life into our physical bodies.
